Re: NM MILSURPS normal July shoot.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I was closer. Our next Las Vegas (Nevada, not New Mexico) match will be the August bolt-action match. Several of us are going to bring Krags this time out. It gets boring using the same guns every month.

Re: Model 1871/84 Cases

Any long-term feedback on this? I just acquired my Mauser 71/84. I'm thinking of just biting another bullet and ordering a hundred legit cases from Australia through Graf's. Tooling up for casting the bullets is gonna be pain enough.

I love the pot-bellied wood stock around the magazine!

Re: Argentine Mauser 1891 mag cap and stock

Very good link. I can't see anything relevant currently on their website, but I will E-mail them and go from there. Heck, maybe I'll look into getting a few other rifles I don't have just to put in the collection, too. The calvary carbines look very cool. I've already got plenty of ammo. Thanks; I'l...

That's one pistol still on my list. Nice find. Bummer about the magazine fiasco.

You found a buyer for the carry holster? That's almost as impressive.

Re: Stock but screw issue.

This is going into wood? Which screw are you calling "the large stock screw?" Sling mount? Buttplate?

Re: Argentine Mauser 1891 magazine capacity

Thanks again! That was a very nice video Ian did on the parade rifle. So it turns out this Argentine 1891 that I acquired (it was in a batch of 7 rifles that I bought from an old pal) is not in the correct stock. Once I knew I was looking for something, I could tell. That explains why mine doesn't h...

Re: Argentine Mauser 1891 magazine capacity

I've done enough internet troubleshooting in other forums to know there is no such thing as a stupid question or assumption. Even with what little I know of the Argentine Mausers, I should have anticipated the ammo question and headed it off to confirm that I am shooting PPU 7.65x53mm ammo. I'll be ...

Argentine Mauser 1891 mag cap and stock

Everything naturally says this is a 5-round magazine. I can only get 4 rounds into mine. I can push the 4th round down enough to feed a 5th into the chamber, but this is obviously not what's intended as if you don't push it down, you'll get a double-feed. I've just finished taking mine apart, cleani...

Re: Vintage Military Semi Auto Rifle Silhoueete Match

Where in CA is this? We are fortunate to have at least a couple dozen regulars (plus stragglers) that support vintage-ONLY matches in Southern NV. We have two every month (one for bolt, one for semi-) that are 150-400 yards, and one every month (except summer) that is 200 - 900 meters. The shorter r...

Re: Considering a Brownells BRN-10A, need advice.

I almost ordered one of these when two of my buddies did two years ago. After seeing theirs, I'm very glad I didn't. I was very unimpressed with the appearance, fit, and finish, and especially with the front sight. We were not able to get mechanical zeros on their rifles, and the front sights are fi...
