Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Original stock wood color for the Swedes (bolt actions and semi's)

Here's a pic of my CG 1901 that was arsenal refurbished and received a new beech stock. It should give an idea of the original colour, although, as said above, beech doesn't always react identically to oil, stain. http://i.imgur.com/LY3bcZi.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gokGrKa.jpg http://i.imgur.com/EgA0q...

Re: Reloading for the K31

To avoid confusion, neck sizing demands a special sizing die, sizing the neck but leaving the case body untouched. These dies are normally used in precision/competition/bench rest rifles chambered in dito calibres. After a certain amount of neck sizing, bolt closing may become harder. Then comes the...

Re: Reloading for the K31

I've tried annealing but gave up considering the extra burden vs. availability of quality brass (PPU in most calibres). Partial/neck sizing gives me good case life. Even .300 Win Mag cases last for more than 10 loadings. After the second split neck, I'll dump the batch (after decades of picking them...

Re: Reloading for the K31

I already owned the old Lachmiller berdan decapper and used it to decap GP11 brass when I acquired my 1st. K31 (had 3 so far). However berdan primers have always been in short supply (most retailers don't stock them and they have to be special ordered). PRVI/PPU boxer brass is available and of excel...

Re: Reloading for the K31

I also found inspiration and tuning tricks in SwissRifles.com. The 7,5 SW has amazing qualities. A good friend of mine rebuild a K31 into a hunting rifle. He ordered a .308 Lothar Walther barrel chambered in 7,5x55 (it brought along a lot of discussions because LW didn't agree with the "unconvention...

Re: Reloading for the K31

I'm also using PPU (formerly PRVI) cases and have tried the Hornady BTHP Match, which I found interchangeable with the Sierra's. I have tuned my rifle, inserting spacers at the barrel bands and found out it shot still better. I refrain from posting my very best 5-shot group at 100 m because most peo...

Re: Reloading for the K31

My scoped K31 likes 168 SMK/N 140/ 45.0. Here are some 5-shot groups at 100 m.

And here's a closer look at the second last of these groups.

I'm not ready to accept their latest blackmail and am willing to move to another photo hosting site.  Any recommendation welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 03A3 Rem 1943

My 'A3 is one of my best shooting military rifles, competing with my Carl Gustav M96. Here's a 100 meters 5-shot group (issue sights, front rest). I was looking to duplicate the original M2 ballistics and finally settled on 150SMK/N140/50.0. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v244/Othello041990/03A3%...

Re: L-E No 4 MkI* 1943

Initially, the rifle grouped on the left edge of a pistol target at 100 m and I had to push the FS left to center the group. My 1943 rifle was FTR'ed in 1953 at Fazakerley, where it obviously got a new stock and barrel (NB : center bedding). Grouping with 140 SMK is OK. http://img.photobucket.com/al...

Re: BCD 41

I never took off the stock so as not affect the bedding (its a shooter in the 1st place). Bolt number doesn't match the other parts. Butt cup is marked "brg -95397-".
