Re: Minty Finnish M39 going rates?

Man, I didn't realize the price of the M39's had gone up so much. Like the rest of you, no way could I have acquired my collection of Finns at today's prices.

Re: Hello from France!

Yo and welcome, Didier!

Nice rifles you have there. Are there rifle ranges in France to shoot them?

Actually, French rifles are fairly popular over here. I've got a MAS 45 trainer that is very accurate.

Re: BRNO model 4 rimfire

Not that much of a problem, to be quite honest : you have either to be a hunter or a registered shooter. Problems do arise when you want to own a semi-automatic rifle, though: quite a bit of paperwork before you are allowed to have one. Any differentiation between civilian semi autos (Remington 740...

Re: BRNO model 4 rimfire

Well, what you have here IS a training rifle, though rather a paramilitary one rather than a military one. It was used in communist Czechoslovakia by the Svazarm, which was an association promoting the ties between Czechoslovakian youths and the army. You should be able to spot the Svazarm stamp so...

Wow, Didier, that is a very nice rifle. Do you have a range report for it?

Thanks for the history and historical picture also.

Re: 1917 Eddy Stone

I've got a 1903A4 that some yaahoo sporterized. They did a nice job, however, and I was able to glom it for a great price, given its heritage. https://i.imgur.com/YJpy2B2.jpg https://i.imgur.com/vHK6w2h.jpg https://i.imgur.com/uZvarzD.jpg I shot it fairly recently with some Federal Power Shok 150 gr...

Re: 1917 Eddy Stone

I found an example of a group I shot with a sported SC 03A3 more recently using the 150 gr Federal Power Shoks... http://i.imgur.com/4FDvNqE.jpg I shot 6 rounds of the 150 gr Powershock@ 100 yards. I pulled the #3 shot, but the rifle groups really well with the Redfield sight and the Power Shoks. Th...

Re: 1917 Eddy Stone

Back in the day I used to be able to get Federal Power Shok 30.06 ammunition pretty cheaply and always found it to be very accurate in my surplus rifles. Since you mentioned hunting, I would try both the 150 gr and the 180 gr versions of Power Shok. Edit: I found some old pictures (around 10 years o...

Re: The FN Venezuelan Mauser

I've got a thing for contract South American rifles and that is a nice one.

That is a nice group. I'm always on the look out for a Venezuelan 24/30 and it's big brother, the 24/30 target model.

I've got several FSR M96's, including two with Hellqvist rear sights. I haven't seen much about the Hellqvist. https://i.imgur.com/2jPcHGM.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/i97iDbu.jpg?2 https://i.imgur.com/7nhnGaR.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/RJkCC1b.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/mDmcZTT.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com...
