To strip or not to strip

IMG_2330.JPG
Well that is the question, when I first bought it I was going to strip it down, back to bare wood but the longer it sits there the more the camo starts to grow on me and I kind of like it. So what do you guys think remove it or let it be ?

Picked this up recently, I have it partially disassembled because it has extraction issues and the cylinder doesn't lock up tight with the trigger pulled. but my main question is the wooden grips are they authentic ? because all the wooden grips ive seen have some kind of checkering to them. they lo...

Re: Gun show score

Also in my original post I thought #5 was an Iraqi Mauser well turns out I was wrong which wasn't the first time that's ever happened. But after some research I found out that its a Syrian M48 Mauser all matching numbers. which is still a great find in my book.

Re: Gun show score

well im just taking a wild guess because no I don't have any paperwork, nor did I buy it from the actual vet that brought it back but some of the things I noticed on it are as follows. 1. no import mark anywhere on the rifle and it was manufactured in 1960. IMG_2313.JPG 2. the fact that its in the c...

Re: MD stamped DP rifle @ $400

I would chalk it up to two things. 1 an unscrupulous or uninformed dealer. 2 probably a young buyer who didn't have any idea what DP stood for and could have been told all kinds of things from the dealer, see number 1. Ask your self why would a DP`d rifle be worth what you can get a good, complete i...

Re: Remington 1903

In my area Remington 03's always command a higher price simply because you don't see them that often and like you said they didn't make as many of them before they got there changes approved by the military and rebranded them to the 03A3. But as to the exact number produced I don't know. should have...

Re: What series is this Type 99 Short Rifle?

Those characters in your picture say type 99 if you read them from right to left. the arsenal and series characters are on the left side of the receiver next to the serial number
