Re: WASR 10 Furniture Swap

I don't know what the yellow/blonde wood is, but it is light as heck weight wise. I was going to weigh the two buttstocks for comparison, but I got excited and wanted to get the new furniture installed, so I forgot to weigh it, a duh moment on me. The bayonet won't slide onto the bayonet lug, checke...

Re: WASR 10 Furniture Swap

Much better, looks like an AK now. Bingo I agree, the only thing I didn't swap out was the pistol grip. The hole in the milsurp one is smaller than the one in the US made one. So I think I would have to get a different screw to do that. Picked up the 4 piece furniture set from Atlantic Firearms. ht...

WASR 10 Furniture Swap

I wanted it to represent what the bad guys were carrying before I retired. Picture taken before I gave her a complete wipe down and put back into the closet. I think she looks better now. The handguards were easy as pie, the buttstock gave me a run for my money.Took an hour to get the buttstock off....

Re: Help with finding who posted this.

BINGO See PM, unfortunately it is part of a porvenienced collection going to a local historical society. I traded 2 vintage ford trucks to save this collection. It was being parted out at an antique store and I got most but missed the uniform and hat. Sold before I realized the collections signific...

Help with finding who posted this.

Back in 2016, I cross posted to another site seeking additional information, on the following items that a member here had posted. Here's my post from the other site, made on 13 Jan 2016, hopefully it will ring a bell with someone here. Was it normal during WWII for aircrews to keep a memento from a...

Ammo Display Help.......

I'm building an ammo display to show the different rounds the weapons I have are chambered in. Much easier than hunting down an example in the ammo cache or looking online to show them. Some rifles have been factory/arsenal modified/updated to take later rounds. Example the Snider-Enfield, Styer Man...

Well I guess its not as bad as walking out to the driveway and saying hey where's the Chevy and hearing you have not had it for years... Well I did walk out to the parking lot looking for the Jeep and couldn't find it. Back story Hurricane Michael totaled both my wife's and my Jeep Grand Cherokees,...

Re: GEW 88/05 Issue.....

Could be that it's been so long since I've taken it out shooting, that I just didn't recall it being there. Wife is making fun of me now, she told me to make a note of it in my gun book, just incase I forget about it.........

Re: GEW 88/05 Issue.....

Wow that is a bad break.. Do not know if I would have shot commercial out of her.. Considering the spot maybe a little spot weld to reinforce it..??? Do not know how dangerous it would be to shoot then???. But it does show the metal is aging in receiver. Commercial isn't loaded as hot as modern, pe...

Found this on my 1890 Danzig GEW 88/05, this is in the chamber area. Sad part is I've have shot this rifle a...
