Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 8mm reloading

I've been using 150 grain bullets in my yugo because that was all I could find locally. My rifle shoots very well with them. How ever I recently got some 198 grain bullets on line and it shoots even better. I wouldn't say I'm a very good " test bed " for ammo testing but, I can see a difference.

Re: TT-33 crack

I have a new one on the way from aim, 245 all in( shipping and tax). Really like that Russian slide, looks pretty cool, doubt I could find one for 90 bucks these days.

Re: TT-33 crack

Yeah that's what I thought, I've seen cracks in some shot guns that aren't much of an issue but I don't think my safety glasses would do a good job stopping the back of the slide. I'll probably get another one to shoot( I really like it) and use this one for spares. The barrel wil make a good gauge ...

TT-33 crack

So, today I was shooting my Romanian TT-33 and noticed a hairline crack on the slide just at the rear of the ejection port. I've fired several thousand rounds through this pistol, almost all reloads that are much lighter than commercial loads. I'm wondering how much of a concern this crack is, it lo...

Re: Mark IV light strike

Thanks for the replies guys, this is my first Webley and did not realize that there was a markIV in .455. Mine is a .38. I should be able to make something that will fit into the notch that the spring should fit into to at least position the spring on the correct orientation. If I hold the spring in...

Re: Mark IV light strike

So, I took this pistol to the range today. I tried different ammo and the pistol would not fire at all in double action. I removed the grip and found the main spring to be much shorter than any pictures I could find, it does not even reach the notch it should fit into. Are these springs available an...

Mark IV light strike

I recently acquired a markIV. The bore looks pristine and shoots as tight a group as I'm capable of. The issue I'm having is that I get light strikes in double action. I've read that some people consider the double action trigger pull to be hard on these guns but, the only other revolver I own is a ...

North Korean military parade

Just saw a North Korean military parade on the news. It looked like sailors were carrying ppsh's and soldiers were carrying pps43's. You think they are still making these, or are they left overs?

Re: Finally got my first Garand!

Congrats! On your new rifle. "It felt like it was free" , sounds like my wife buying something on sale and saying she saved money and a sure sign of the start of an addiction. I'll bet you had a huge involuntary grin the first time you pulled the trigger.

Re: WHEEL WEIGHTS

I just thought I'd throw this out there. I don't cast bullets but, I've been a mechanic 40 plus years and every time I lift a car battery I wonder how much work it would take to use the lead from them to make bullets. I figure you could neutralize the acid with baking soda and I know the cases brake...

7.62x25 reload

I love to shoot my Tokarev but ammo is pricey, so reloading is a must. I haven't found a lot of info so, I thought I would let people know the load I have kind of settled on. I was using cfe pistol powder and it worked well but, one shop had Winchester autocomp on sale so I tried it. The grouping ti...

Re: Sight Pictures for the M1 Garand

Thanks les123, makes sense now. I've read lots of things talking about using different sight pictures but not saying anything about changing sight adjustment.

Re: Sight Pictures for the M1 Garand

I am struggling to understand how different sight pictures could have the same results. If the objective is to hit the center of the bullseye, I try (notice I said try) to put the post in the center of the bull. So, that's my picture. If I put the bull on top of the post my shots will be low. I don'...

Re: 1961 East German Makarov

Get that gun to the range and you'll really fall in love. I have a Bulgarian model and it's my favorite shooter. People at my club ( including me ) are always impressed how far I progress in our weekend competitions. I actually came in first in a head to head falling plate shoot, against all kinds o...
