Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 1891 Engineer carbine

No screw holes or plate underneath. Also, both pieces of the bayonet clamp/ lug, and both pieces to the rear barrel band are stamped “26” ( all 4 pieces stamped 26 to match the last two numbers of the serial number). Apparently, this was an arsenal conversion and not from an individual. The part ab...

1891 Engineer carbine

Yes there is tiger striped wood. I think I maybe confusing the 1909 as being Cutdown, though they also made original 1909 carbines as well IIRC. Yours has the shorter sight. Usually the Bubba cutdowns will still have the 2000 yard sight. Yours was converted from a Calvary carbine because the sling r...

Re: 1891 Engineer carbine

Nice tiger stripe. Chemically stripped stock.

I believe they were also cutdown from 1891 rifles but I would have to double check for I don't collect the pre 1895 or exposed mag Mausers.

Re: german stuff

I recently sold a Romanian Capture bolt mismatch 1940 660 Reichsadlers and receiver proofs ground away. Waffenamts left intact. The mismatched bolt bothered me.

In the meantime check out centerfire system, they bought a bunch of mausers. They do a mauser monday email listing 50 or so unique rifles. Most all seem to be missing minor...

Re: german stuff

Yes non import marked matching would be most desirable. Import marked K98k are much less desirable than most other Milsurps.

Never seen that American Eagle Crest but now I want one. I'm a sucker for a nice crest.

It's a win win. A bunch of Antifa types get eliminated or we actually find out what's there. I'll catch the replay

Re: Political correctness?

The Nazi party had hundreds of thousands of member before WW2 in this country and some went back to Germany to fight with them. Should we fly the Nazi flag at our local, state and federal buildings? After all it is our history. Apples and oranges. Nazi flag never was the flag of either side nor any...

Re: Political correctness?

Perhaps you didn't notice the nazi flags along side that CSA battle flag at the Charlttesville protest of CSA monuments. Were you blind or just dumb? People died to get rid of that flag too. You really dishonor a lot of vets with that remark, not to mention others. Mark Seems you are forgetting abo...

Re: Political correctness?

noticed this flag among others in the lobby if that flag was among a group of other flags ie. city, state, POW flag, military branch flags etc.... or historical flags, then I believe it's permissible because its in a grouping of other flags and is not a stand alone flag or is predominate. what othe...

Re: 1912 Chilean Mauser Short Rifle rechambered for7.62 NATO

I hope the following observations will help others who are contemplating collecting one of the Steyr manufactured Model 1912 Mauser rifles (98 Mauser variant) with Chilean crest. There are 4 variations available. 1) Rifle with 29 inch barrel, 7mm 2) Rifle with 29 inch barrel, 7.62 Nato converted 3)...
