Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

In D.C for reunion

I'm back in the Washington D.C area for a Vietnam reunion this week. I'm hoping to tour the NRA museum as well in Va.
I was born and raised in Maryland and it's good to visit my old stomping grounds again and look up a few friends.

Re: Because I can....

I've had a few .357 revolvers and the only one I still own is the Ruger. I have not shot the newer versions so I have no idea how well they shoot. Mine was made in '72.

Because I can....

In the 70's and 80's once I became a Senior Enlisted on Destroyers I would stand Officer of the Deck while in port. My Petty Officer of the Watch was armed with a loaded M1911 .45 Auto to protect the ship from the bad guys. Since I was also in charge of nuclear weapon security I asked my CO's if I t...

Re: Hakim

They are great shooting rifles. Of the FN49's types, the 8mm is perhaps the best in accuracy and the better gas system.
Nice rifle.

Re: Garand range report

Good shooting with a great rifle Calfed. Decades ago the DCM sold M1D's for a week turns out it was like a lottery. No internet so you had to send in your paperwork and a money order for 225 bucks. I sent mine in but was too late by 12 hours. The DCM contacted me and wanted to sell me a M1 that was ...

Thank you for posting the link. I'd love to find info on my pistol as it is very old and has four original grip screws.

What a neat rifle. I bet it would do the same thing at 800 yards.

Re: Trigger time! (aka I'm still here!)

It really sounds like a weak spring since you have two strikers and they both do the same thing.

Re: Trigger time! (aka I'm still here!)

Take your Mauser bolt apart and scrub out the striker stop at the front of the bolt. Make sure there is no dried cosmoline piled up in there. If clean, it could be your spring. To prove the spring has gone weak put it in a padded vice and stretch the spring a couple of links. Try your primer test if...

Re: .310 Cadet handloads at 200 meters off-hand

UPDATE: I won the match using the Cadet rifle. Lots of "Hang-Dog faces as they got beaten by a "Bot Scout Rifle" at 200 meters off hand! I love this little rifle. 130 grain heeled bullet .323 Tumble lubed- 45% Alox-45% Johnson Paste Wax-10% Odorless Mineral Spirits, air dry for 24 hours ( lube was l...

Re: Home Rolled Solvent

Hydrogen peroxide while safe on Barrel Browning can change the color of a blued gun. It is used in home brew Cold bluing and if left on the Blued parts will darken or streak the colors if left on the surface for an hour.
Just be aware of that.

Re: My Yugo M24/47

They are in the top 5 accurate 8x57 m/m Mauser types out there. I've shot mine at 800 yards and it did very well with the 198 grain bullets.
