Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: New (to me) Ljungman

They are great rifles. They have an adjustable gas regulator.
Never put your fingers in front of the cocked bolt unless the safety is ON!

Re: In Praise of the Gew 1888

The old Charcoal burners were well made and accurate rifle in their day. With today's powders, they should shoot very well. I have read than Trail Boss works very well and will not spike like 5744 can.
good shooting at 300 yards.

Grate shooting. Got to love the Jlungman.
We have a 300 meter silhouette match this Saturday. There will be no AR15's or 10's. Only old rifles.

Re: M1911 added to collection. (And pictures)

I held the 385 meter Turkey Shoot today and fired my G1911 with my hand loads. I tied for first place and won the Turkey in the shoot off which I passed onto the 3RD place winner who had to shoot against three others who tied for 3RD. The rifle has always been a fine shooter at any distance and real...

Re: M1911 added to collection. (And pictures)

The soldier who was issued the G1911 would most likely be very long gone. That being said his family may still be around. We have lost our friend, who used to look up Troop Tag soldiers. He did find one of mine and we shared shooting stories and photos of his old rifle. The soldiers issued the K31's...

Re: M1911 added to collection. (And pictures)

I've been shooting my G1911 rifle for a couple of decades now in long range competition. And I will be doing it again this weekend at our closer range (385 meters) for our annual "Turkey Shoot". Of the rifles I have in my collection the G1911 is in the top two for accuracy at any range with either o...

Re: Luger advice...

I've owned Lugers for 58 years now. The two most common "problems" if you want to call it that is that:1. The wrong bullet weight was used. These pistols were designed to shoot the 124 grain bullet really moving out. While you may be able to shoot 115 grain bullets the toggle may short stroke and ca...
