Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Centerfire Systems has Swedish Mausers

Sure they are cheaper than nice condition complete rifles... But $300 for a rifle that SAMCO piled in the warehouse as unsellable for years?...from SAMCO bankruptcy to Century for a buck or two. Then to Centerfire for twenty bucks or so... Can’t see them as $300 rifles. I wouldn't bother with them,...

Re: Chinese [0306] Arsenal SKS

danny, someone of another board posted pics of how he installed a scope mount on his SKS, using the mount system I previous linked to. this is defiantly the way to go for scoping a SKS :D Thank you sir, I agree with you. This looks to me like the only way to go. I may have this done with my M59/66.

Re: Chinese [0306] Arsenal SKS

Is this using a scope rail receiver cover? If so that's out of the question, thanks anyway! I like the idea of mounting the scope mount directly to the side of the receiver as Ghoulardi suggested so the scope doesn't have to be disturbed when cleaning the carbine. I'll tell her about that idea and s...

Re: Gun shop Yugo 59/66 $$$

I agree with the others, WAY overpriced for what you described. Mine came with everything, even a new gas valve from an individual wanting $350.

Re: Mauser M96 6.5x55

I have a 1905 M96 that has an unnumbered cleaning rod, all else matches. I recall reading that during that year (1905) the factory either stopped numbering the rods or they just started numbering them I'm not sure which! I'm sure someone with better knowledge of this will post here soon!

Re: Chinese [0306] Arsenal SKS

I'm curious about her red dot sight- what mount did you use, and did it hold zero very well? What made her want to remove it? I've been thinking about adding a red dot sight to mine just for the fun of it, would love to hear your experiences. -Dan Dan I apologize for taking so long to answer, I did...

Barrel lug number M59/66A1

A couple of months ago I featured this M59/66A1 on this forum (http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3506) now I'm wondering what this number stamped on the bottom of the barrel lug means? It's different from the serial number or any of the parts numbers. I apologize for the poor pho...

Chinese [0306] Arsenal SKS

My wife's Chinese [0306] arsenal SKS has a pressed and pinned barrel and it's the most accurate of our three SKS carbines. She picked this one up at a gun shop at Heber Springs, Arkansas about 6 or 7 years ago. She has about eight Tapco 20 round stocks and prefers them, of course she has the origina...

Re: Yugo SKS 59/66 A1 Cleaning Rod

The SKS I had years ago had a cleaning rod that was snug but, I never used it. I cleaned the hard way. Not often but, cleaned anyway. I took the receiver, bolt, gas port apart and cleaned from breech. The old man I bought it from had penciled in all kinds of notes in the owners manual. :handgesture...

Re: Yugo SKS 59/66 A1 Cleaning Rod

Zeliard it makes no sense to me why the Yugoslavians/Serbians even bothered to make cleaning rods!! We never use them anyway but use our commercial rods. I thank you for that info, it's sort of like what the Swedish Army did with the cleaning rods for their M96 rifles. They had a 4-6 inch extension ...

Yugo M59/66A1

Recently I got this carbine and was surprised at what great condition it's in, all matching also. This is my first Yugo, I knew nothing about them before now. I bought it from an individual that had it for a while and never fired it, I had to clean the cosmoline out of it and it looks as though it h...

Re: M4 sherman In WWII

My late Uncle-by-marriage was a Sherman driver in Europe 1944-45. His crew went through four damaged tanks in that period of time and lost only one crewman. Their Loader lost a leg when a German round struck the tank and hit him on its way through, he did not survive this serious wound. They destroy...
