Re: M1917 warped stock, etc.

Hey doc, about adding weight. When I was shooting high power matches I'd get bruised up during rapid fire. Dumbass me would get excited and slip up. I was shooting my M1. I added twenty-seven .58 caliber musket balls. Basicly all that would fit. It eliminated my bruising problem, I would recommend g...

Re: Kar98az upper band

Your best bet would have been Springfield Sporters. Sadly they closed up shop due to the owners decking health.
Good/bad news Century Arms bought their parts inventory.

You can drop them a line with what you are looking for. Last I heard they were still sorting parts.

Hi Austin. Welcome back.
Nothemug, welcome. You might be interested in a recent issue of Firearm News, they have a piece on battle damaged rifles.
And Weffol, hello and welcome. Nice looking place. Not likely to make it to Europe, but if you are ever near Orlando... :)

Re: M1917 warped stock, etc.

I have read they like a heavier bullet, 180 grain to 200.
I can't confirm this first hand. But enough guys here have said it from experience.

Re: OWS "sporter" M48

I did the math, for a friend. :) I was more interested in the mod 98s. Stocks while not any cheaper are more available. A death in the family will have things, moneywise, tight for the foreseeable future. But when things are good again I want another Yugoslavian m48, or 24/47 etc. But I want a nice ...

Are you trying to get me in trouble?
I really don't need another project right now.
But if I do I will post a review. :)

Re: M1 Garand and me, both from 1955

Very nice.
In 1998 I got my "one in a lifetime M1". Well that was the policy until 1999.
Mine was a 2,46 million Springfield service grade that had been through Toole in the month and year I was born.
It shoots far better than I am capable of doing.

Welcome aboard.
I like the oddball stuff as well. Tokarevs, and Brooks, not m1935s. :)
French 32 long is easier to load now as Stienel and one other company are making new bras and loaded rounds.

Very nice work. If I hadn't seen your post I wouldn't have know it was repaired. I will keep Jerry in mind if I ever have need of a holster repair.

Re: Sad day because of G33/40

Late to the party, I found this site late last year while looking for something to restore my dou 43 mod 98..
They are not cheap , so I passed for now.
But being in Slovenia at least shipping will be a little cheaper.

Re: Carcano Bolt Will Not Disassemble

More gunzilla, perhaps boiling and taps with a hammer. Taps not strikes. 😁
If I recall the detent is held in place by a pin, perhaps you can tap that out and get some more oil in there.
I have not used gunzilla, but have used pb parts blaster with good results.. kroil is also said to be excellent.
