Re: vetterli carbine at range.

All I’ve tried so far is the 2400. Anybody try other powders that give good groups? The 20 grains of 2400 show no pressure signs and are giving 1300 FPS. I’m thinking I can increase the load for more velocity which would help in hunting deer. Thing the metallurgy of the 69/71 is strong enough for s...

I look forward to the device.
NOT FAIR! You won our last rapid fire match with your SWISS rifle without any south paw modification. 😉

You read it WRONG ... he says it hits 5" high at 50-yards ...

If reading my printout ... you read it WRONG there too, as being a positive (+) number, that is 'high' ...
Right...I knew that. Senior moment. HIGH was his problem all along. That and zeroing his rifle at 25 yards

Re: SKS ballistics strangeness

Give up trying...that info looks suspect to me. NO way a scoped rifle zeroed at 25 yards will strike low on a 50 yard target. Sure the bullet drops the instant it leaves the muzzle, but it is launched at UPWARD angle to rise above the line of sight, to then fall down again to that line of sight...th...

Re: SKS ballistics strangeness

Ammolab, Thanks! OK, that makes sense...but I would have thought that a ballistics program that allows you to set your scope height (like Strelok, which I use) would account for that. But I don’t get that amount of change in Strelok even when i set the scope height to an extreme amount, like 6” abo...

Re: SKS ballistics strangeness

Your scope is mounted WAY above the rifles bore. That geometry puts a lot of triangulation of UP to hit center at 25 yards. That UP sends your bullet high until drop brings it down to a POI zero.

Thanks. From the can label I believe there are no stripper clips. It says 480 instead of 440 and says FARA LAME which I believe means no strippers.
Label is 380 rds and that is in boxes no clips. On clips you get 340 rds.

I still have plenty of the CMP marked boxes, I bought from the NORTH STORE :). these rounds were delinked from metal belts, they all have discoloration around the casing I read that the only M2 that is "corrosive" was the Korean ammo with a lot number starting with KA(?) PLENTY of US and foreign ma...

Re: recent sales price of mummy wrapped Enfield No.4

I will hold on to that pair of #4s. As a Century distributor during the era of those imports, I had a good number of consecutive #pairs and at least one triple consecutive # set. I took stacks of these rifles to Texas gun shows selling one or many for $189.00 each. I remember only ONE buyer that bou...

Re: recent sales price of mummy wrapped Enfield No.4

What would a factory wrapped German K98 or a verified new M1 Garand go for? More than $1700 for sure

Would my consecutive # pair of those #4s bring a extra premium?

Re: Lee pistol crimp die questions HELP

Shortening the bottom of the inner sleeve will do what you want. Basically, you want it so that when the case, in the shell holder, contacts the bottom of the sleeve, the "fingers" on the collet portion should line up with the mouth of the case where you want the crimp to be. Adjusting the die up o...

Re: Lee pistol crimp die questions HELP

I have the lee 30 Luger factory crimp die. It is a collet type. As is it may not crimp you slightly shorter French ctg.

If you remove the .074” or more from either the bottom of the crimping collet of the die OR the top of your shell holder, it will crimp the French round as you desire.
