Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Are these good bullets

They are good. I really like the 175gr .308” in my Swiss rifles. You can seat them out like GP11 bullets.

At times you can get deals on blemished and over run (not blemished) Nosher bullets here:

Re: Heavier Bullets

I had great accuracy with the Prvi 165gr .308” SPBT. Now I do not see it offered...

Also the Nosler 140gr competition HPBT .308”. Now discontinued...

Sorry, I am Not much help as I need a new bullet for 7.5x54 myself. Will try 155gr Noslers HPBT Match

Re: Battle of Midway movie

I suspect the “effect” for every HE aircraft bomb will be the usual 100 gallons of gasoline....typical these days.

Watch films made by/for WW2 vets in the late 40s and 1950s. Bombs and Arty effects look a lot more like...WAR.

That is an interesting hunk of steel. Was it hard to weld that bracket to such a thick target?

Re: 800 yards with the M-1917 again

You are not reloading right if it takes a crimp to reduce your extreme spread . With test groups from over 2000 different military rifles of my own , crimping never made any thing better . An additional 30 lbs of bullet pull on a 40,000 psi load is a 0.00075 % increase . Deforming the bullet will m...

Re: 800 yards with the M-1917 again

Part of what I was talking about was over 15 years of as issued MILITARY rifle matches . None of the top shooters with military rifles crimped anything and it took 1 inch , or less groups to have small group of the match . Good reloading was the key to winning our matches with military rifles . The...

Re: 800 yards with the M-1917 again

Crimping , that would depend on what you accept for accuracy . Do you really shoot 1 inch 5 - shot groups at 100 yards with your loads in military rifles ? That is what it took to win the small group in about every match we had . Do shoot in national level bench rest matches ? At that level nobody ...

“Military barrel”...that would be a commercial mfg one, and if restored to GI condition with new wood, it would still be a parts gun with no collector value.

Looks like winds could be 18 MPH for Saturday’s match. Could be a good bit of “left hold” to hit That silhouette!

Re: F-104 Trivia

Those flights into combat are always dangerous....rank is no guarantee of safety. Summer of 1967 two B52s collided mid air off shore of our Hospital in Vietnam. I talked to a survivor who was pilot of one of the buffs flying to a bombing mission in darkness. He said the wing of another B52 in the fl...

Re: JFK

These conspiracy people are getting annoying, if not dangerous to a civil society. Not everything was, is, or will be a conspiracy. The easiest explanation usually is true. I do remember one show trying to show Oswalt didn't do it because the ammo they were using didn't go boom so they were convinc...

Snap shoot went well. Two shooters hit 18 out of 20 shots and all shooters had fun.

Same problem with 7.7 Jap. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EC5SVAW5EwA

also pistol ammo https://www.glocktalk.com/threads/do-no ... 2.1518479/

PCI = Poor Crappy Ignition
The handgun ammo: Precision One, seems to be a separate crappy ammo outfit.
