Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Cleaned up an 1884 Trapdoor Springfield

A beautiful job considering what you started with. I have a 73 TD, made in 1884, been in the family since 53. My Dad, bless his heart, made a wall hanger out of it in the mid 50's. Varnished the stock and painted the metal parts gold. After I inherited it in the late 80's the gold was all but flaked...

Re: Weekend road trip.

I remember when Liberty Bell 7 sank, watched it on live TV back in 61. They restored it before placing it in the Cosmosphere and that, to me, is a shame. It should have been left as is since it was, or is, a relic. I have a full length video showing the search, locating and recovery of it and it was...

Re: Weekend road trip.

Visiting the cosmosphere has been at the top of my wish list forever. Can you give me some info about the price of admission, if there are any quality motels and restaurants close by and about how long would it take to tour the whole facility if I started really early? It'll take me more than a week...

Re: IN PASSING & FWTW

I've watched videos of people making various items with those printers and while I accept it's possible to "print" a firearm I just can't get my head around how they would stand up to the pressures of being fired with live ammo. They're plastic, so how is this so possible that people are getting wor...

This one is on me. Every time someone on this forum mentions "magazines" I instantly think they're talking about Life and Time.

Re: Signs you are growing old.

Explain to a millennial why married couples in the old movies and TV shows were always shown sleeping in twin beds. :naughty:

I wasn't aware of that one on the Krait. I'll have to try and find that one on DVD also. Thanks for the info.

I was betting I'd get the answer from one of our brothers "down under". Highest honor may be the one I was thinking of. Thanks to you both.

Help a foggy memory.

I was thinking about a movie I saw many years ago, about an Australian attempt to sink anchored Japanese shipping in their harbor using midget submarines. They failed and were all taken prisoner. I can't remember the name of this film, it's supposed to be based on a true story. Does anyone know it's...

If it's on the books it can be enforced. There are thousands of " wanna be famous" prosecutors willing to go the distance for their fifteen minutes of fame.

Re: Super Troopers 2

I loved the first one. I think it should be shown as a training film at the academy, off duty hours of course. I'm afraid the second one will be just a botched effort to cash In on the first's success as happens with so many sequels. But we'll see.

I had the pleasure of spending three weeks in Minnesota in December 2013. I don't care if it's 30 degrees in July, you'll never hear me complaining about the cold ever again.

Re: Never will I speak ill of the forum members here

I'm a member of only two forums, this one being the first I joined. I, too, enjoy the fact that the members here are mature enough to realize that others are entitled to their opinions without being belittled or browbeaten. The other forum is almost the same with exception of a couple of members wit...
