Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: FAL Rifle thread pitch sizes (Sticky from old site)

I recently acquired a Chilean kit and the long flash suppressor screw was gone, went to Ace and tried different screws they had the and the no. 4 metric fit? Went in with only hand/no wrench.

Re: Found some Wood

I would suggest Flypaper over on the FAL files, he has plenty of wood stocks, pistol grips, and forearms?

Re: Unissued, matching late 7th series Type 99 in last ditch configuration

In another thread I asked about last ditch Arisakas and my understanding is now, there was never a last ditch Arisaka but, several changes were made to them through out the war and this term was slang and what the G.I.s were calling them(for lack of a better term)? As the was of attrition waged on, ...

Re: What classifies an Arisaka type 99 as

Very good reading in your links and informative but I find it strange and lacking in your last link it doesn't mention Nambu taking over development of the type 99? Am I confused here?

Just what is a Spanish Mauser?

Seems to be a lot of speculation about these? Made in Spain by Spanish gunmaker or what?

Re: Need gunsmith recommendation

You are lucky my Arisaka has been stacked(darn near every screw) so badly I can't get it apart to even clean it.

Why do you call this a last ditch rifle? What would you say classifies it a last ditch? Looks in same condition and period as one I bought off this very forum when, I was looking for an Arisaka for my collection?

Re: BLO on Arisaka stock?

I read somewhere the original finish on Arisakas was a derivative of Sumac and should not be attempted to refinish as it may cause skin irritation? Someone here( I think )argued this point with me, on this.

Re: No.4 Mk1 reare sight?

IIRC the No 4 Mk 1 latter sights had a pin from the right side and a vertical pin through that on the left side so, would be a lot of metal work to come close even let alone expensive to convert? Why not shop around and see if you can find an original ladder sight that fits everything else?

Reduce nut size.
I'm not sure my local Ace Hardware store carries anything smaller, what size would you suggest? 8-32?

Re: Anyone here have a 1895 Nagant that they've tried fitting a .32 cylinder to?

All I recieved was the cylinder. Mine seems to work( with both cylinders) often but, some times I do see the hand drags and won't index properly. yesterday I carefully stoned the indexing star on the back side of the conversion cylinder and seemed to help in my situation? It works much better now. L...
