1907 bayonet

I picked up a 1907 bayonet marked GRI with crown, Seems to be India, but the grips has AUSTRALIA stamped on them. Is it possible this bayonet was used by the
Aussies?

Re: Help with tightening a Jungle Carbine front sight

Sounds like the sight was possibly glued in place and shooting loosened it. All of the suggestions made could help. Adjusting the dovetail is often the most used fix. If you have some no 4 sights, try one of them. If it is tight then its the sight. You can then replace or stipple the original sight....

Re: Ok why so much

It is a sign of the sad times now, Surplus rifles are getting fewer now. Same as the ammo. Bad sign of getting older when I can remember the gun show surplus rifles for $20 and ammo by the box for $2. Need that time machine.

Good looking rifle, maybe a good oil soak for the screws will help. I'd pick up one in that condition for $220 any day.

Re: Whitneyville Walker

It seems that from your description, the new pawl might be too long. Have you compared it to the old one? If you turn the cylinder by hand does the cylinder lock engage? If so it a problem with the Pawl. Hope you find out the problem, Walkers are a blast to shoot(pun intended).

Re: Market for M44's and 91/40's

Keiths,
I think the market for these fine rifles has slowed due to the decrease of available cheap surplus ammo. Of course the price also has increased. the day of the $39 dollar mosins is over. Too bad, these are fine rifles.
