Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: RUBY Won't Load

The magazine is from another Ruby, complete with serial number. I am shooting FMJ, since I doubt they had hollow points in WWI, but those were some crafty people. I'll check the Magazine feed lips. The bullet is just not going into the chamber at all. My fear is I need another magazine. Ummh, that s...

Re: Converting .348 Win to 10.4mm Italian Vetterli

Looks like I shall make some myself to save money. I rigged up a blank CH4D die to accept custom tooling for use on my Lee Classic press. I'll also anneal those cases before I try anything. I don't know if CH4D has dies for the old Italian Vetterli rifles. Only one way to find out and fork over some...

Re: Any Good Gun Shops between Dayton Ohio & Fayetteville NC

Olde English Gunshop 10-15 minutes north of I-70 and I-75 isn't bad, but not exactly Cabelas. Used gun prices are much better there. Look up Google maps on how to get there since there is no direct off ramp. I would second the AIM SURPLUS visit. Check out their prices online and see what I mean. I w...

Re: 8mm Lebel Pistol Ammo

I don't have any bullseye.... I'm going to use a counter bore cutter on a drill press with a pilot while I hold it in a V-Block clamped to the drill press. I'll skip the annealing. Wish me luck.

Mark

8mm Lebel Pistol Ammo

I wanted to know if I should anneal my 32-20 Winchester brass before I cut it down for 8mm Lebel cases, I'm guessing yes I should. Unfortunately, right now my garage isn't ready for me to do any annealing in it and I need a nice safe darkened place to do it so I can see the case turn that ruby red b...

RUBY Won't Load

I recently bought a "nice" WWI French used Ruby pistol. Last week I took it to the range and she wouldn't load bullets into the chamber as they got stuck between the magazine and barrel. Any suggestions on what might be wrong? Pistol even had the two stars in the grip by the magazine. Also, my Frenc...

Re: Load For 7.65mm French Long

I used Starline brass to make my 7.65mm French long. This brass had better consistency over PRVI brass, so it got used first. I still have 50 cases of PRVI to play with. Probably still okay to work with. Go with Starline if you have a choice. It is worth a few bucks per 100 if you want to hold tight...

Re: Early low number 1903

The low serial number probably only hurts your resale value since the CMP has fairly clear warnings about these rifles posted. I've seen some online research done that suggests these rifles are "reasonably" safe to shoot. So reasonably, that the USMC used plenty of low serial numbers in WWII. The CM...

Re: I scored some dies

If you got 6.5mm by 55 dies for a Swedish Mauser, there's a Krag for that. They do come up for auction time to time. Oh, to have one of those and I think a Swedish Mauser is the cat's meow.

Re: Chilean Mauser

AIM SURPLUS has Hornady 7mm Mauser for $31 a box of 20. They haven't had any PRVI for over a year or more.

Re: They just don't get it......

I thought the main thing was the speedy and complete recovery of rep Scalise as well as the capital police officers that were hit. I believe both sides of the aisle were resolute on this as well as condemning the violence. That's what I got, did I miss something? Scalise or Giffords, it is all the s...

So sad, and probably still stuck with that Enfield sniper. Prices are so high with AIM SURPLUS 45 minutes down the road.

You both have spoken the unspeakable and even managed to show pictures.... What am I do you with the two of you? The unspeakable caliber only brings logistical nightmares and unhappy Finns. Go forth and sin no more. Best Regards, Mark BTW, since it isn't exactly supported real well reloading wise, I...

Re: Pics of my MK 1 Webely

Gander Mountain went under? Say it isn't so! Gee, and I thought Cabelas labelling a Krag as a Springfield was horrible (I saw that in WV off I-70).

Re: Bullet size for Martini-Henry

I have a MKIV and I read where those are usually oversize. Accordingly, I have a paper patch mold in the .468 diameter range. I'm going to make a crude neck sizer for this as well. I think the standard one is well under those dimensions. My expanded/fire formed cases inner diameters were in the .472...
