Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Pics of my MK 1 Webely

Gander Mountain went under? Say it isn't so! Gee, and I thought Cabelas labelling a Krag as a Springfield was horrible (I saw that in WV off I-70).

Re: Bullet size for Martini-Henry

I have a MKIV and I read where those are usually oversize. Accordingly, I have a paper patch mold in the .468 diameter range. I'm going to make a crude neck sizer for this as well. I think the standard one is well under those dimensions. My expanded/fire formed cases inner diameters were in the .472...

Re: Request: A Tutorial on How to Anneal Rifle Brass

The darkened room is the key. You will see the brass turn color far quicker so you don't over do it. I go for a nice dull red. I use a power drill with a shaft that has a socket welded unto it. I spin the case in the socket to equally apply the heat. I use a commercial "Bernz-O-Matic" torch to heat ...

Re: Converting .348 Win to 10.4mm Italian Vetterli

I'm guessing its just too much to expand at one time. .323 to something like .430 is literally a stretch. A case conversion book suggests expanding in .020 intervals to avoid splits. That seems harsh if the brass is already annealed. Five expansions also take some time.

What do you shoot out of it? I have one myself and I call it the poor man's Swedish Mauser.

Re: Mosin Warhorses

Ever strip one down and redo it yourself? Mine came out great in plain BLO with some tru-oil. I think that is more like how they originally looked like.

Re: 1903 Colt

I think you got the best of that trade. I've been looking at 1903's made in Sweden with a 5" barrel. Anybody got one and how does it shoot? I picked up a Spanish made Ruby pistol that served in the French army in WWI. It's a copy of the 1903 minus most of the safety features with 3 more bullets in t...

45/70 Tooling

I've measured some Lee Precision dies and noticed they seem rather small to not squeeze a .459 Minnie type bullet from a Lee Mold. Anybody else notice this? I went out and made myself a neck sizer to ever so slightly accept this bullet instead of mushing it like a banana. I have my own gage pin set,...

Load For 7.65mm French Long

Okay, CH4D says my die set is a few weeks away from being ready to go as it came back from heat treat a week ago. I'm going to use a .311 cast bullet, so I need a load to test out the brass I converted for it (I'm resizing .313 cast bullets for this since I don't have a mold yet,) Send info, send he...

Unspeakable Caliber

I'm watching for those of you who speak the unspeakable. You know who you are. Hint, the Finns used to throw them away and now they fetch high dollar, go figure.

NOE Mold For Italian Vetterli

Know people usually use a 250 grain 44 cal Lee mold for this, but does NOE molds have something better? Yeah, they are more expensive, but I like to spend money on tooling. Also, what do you usually size these to?

Converting .348 Win to 10.4mm Italian Vetterli

Okay, has anybody out there actually done this successfully? I intend to anneal my brass first, but how much expansion can that case take at a time?

Converting .348 Win to 10.4mm Italian Vetterli

Besides annealing the brass before expanding the neck, what other steps are necessary? I wondered how much you can get away with at one time expanding the neck. From what I see it should be done in .020 steps, or does the annealing make that much greater. I'll have to make some expanders for my pres...

How is the recoil on one of those? I know the ones they made in 45ACP were brutal.
