Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Gun Shows: When Did Our World Go Nuts?

I think a 91/30 scale would be easier since there are more of them around. I would bet all the deals are on AR-15s now.

Re: 7.65 French Long.

The Lee Precision #7 for 32ACP definitely does not work. The CH4D M1 does not work either. The RCBS#12 does apparently work though. I still like my brass better since it works in all three. I have no idea how this stuff ejects yet. We shall see. Mine does work though. It is shameful that the CH4D sh...

Re: Lebel prices

Check out prices starting in November. Usually you can get a deal before Christmas if you look long enough. Now is a good time to confirm pricing.

Best Regards,

Mark

BTW, I stayed away from pistols since they were so expensive as compared to military surplus rifles.

Re: Lebel prices

Get a real authentic non-matching Lebel as what served in the field..... Mine went to the arsenal 3 times. I look for a good bore more than matching numbers. While mine is somewhat of a mutt, the bore is excellent.

Need Lebel Parts To Copy

I somehow misplaced some metal parts from a Lebel rifle's fore end while I had the fore end's wood professionally repaired. I'm a machinist by trade and think I can make those parts from scratch if I had originals to go from. I need the front and rear band springs as well as the cartridge guide that...

Re: 7.65 French Long.

I just started reloading some of the Starline brass I bought and it is coming out of the shell holder since the ejector groove was cut way too large/long. I tried some of the cases I personally made with my own tooling and quickly noticed the difference in how the cases were held in by the shell hol...

Re: Alvin C York dissertation, battlefield archaeology

Got a synopsis on the article for us non-archeaologists? Any words on whether he had an M1917 or a Springfield 1903 when he earned his MOH? He must have had nerves of steel to shoot that accurate under fire.

Re: 1917 Movie

The pictures from the Atlantic were most welcome. I liked the memorial from Vimy Ridge which still shows all the craters to this day. I can only imagine the mud and lack of vegetation when the craters were first made. This is usually followed up with more ghastly features as time went by. They tende...

Re: 1917 Movie

Thanks for reminding me of the title. I managed to see it recently. I read a French account of life in the trenches and it seems civilians and military not assigned to the front did not act like there was a war going on when the soldiers got their leaves and returned back to their homes. The best of...

Re: 1917 Movie

When I see front line, or even communication trenches without shell holes O'Plenty, I can only roll my eyes. French accounts from Verdun, or even other less active sectors mentioned how carefully men had to move up to the front, even at night, so just marching up in trenches in undisturbed land grat...

1917 Movie

I just came across this and thought I would send it along. Apparently there will be a new WWI movie. After watching the stuff from the Imperial War Museum restored in color, this looks cheap. I know it costs lots of money to dig real trenches, but isn't that is what CGI if for? I am planning to see ...

Re: They Shall Not Grow Old

The IWM is actually first on my list if I ever get to London. I got an old buddy teaching at Oxford I'd like to tour it with. He loved the USAF Museum and I expect the IWM to be of the same caliber museum. I got him out on the range and we gave my SMLE a few rounds. He said the old guys at the colle...

They Shall Not Grow Old

I recently caught the documentary/movie "They Shall Not Grow Old" on HBO this week after reading about it in several magazines with great reviews. The film uses old film footage and pictures along with archived audio of the men who served in the war. While the original footage was in black and white...
