Re: 1917 Movie

When I see front line, or even communication trenches without shell holes O'Plenty, I can only roll my eyes. French accounts from Verdun, or even other less active sectors mentioned how carefully men had to move up to the front, even at night, so just marching up in trenches in undisturbed land grat...

1917 Movie

I just came across this and thought I would send it along. Apparently there will be a new WWI movie. After watching the stuff from the Imperial War Museum restored in color, this looks cheap. I know it costs lots of money to dig real trenches, but isn't that is what CGI if for? I am planning to see ...

Re: They Shall Not Grow Old

That museum is actually on my list. Now to convince the Mrs to see it with me.

Re: They Shall Not Grow Old

The IWM is actually first on my list if I ever get to London. I got an old buddy teaching at Oxford I'd like to tour it with. He loved the USAF Museum and I expect the IWM to be of the same caliber museum. I got him out on the range and we gave my SMLE a few rounds. He said the old guys at the colle...

They Shall Not Grow Old

I recently caught the documentary/movie "They Shall Not Grow Old" on HBO this week after reading about it in several magazines with great reviews. The film uses old film footage and pictures along with archived audio of the men who served in the war. While the original footage was in black and white...

I got one and love it. Another design straight from John Moses Browning himself. They seem to fit the hand rather nicely.

Re: Anyone collect Dimestore cast metal soldiers?

I just inventoried my painted 15mm lead/pewter military figures, mostly Napoleonic along with 19th century Franco-Prussian and Austrian-Italian ones. Real men paint their own...... You can war game with this stuff on a table top, not exactly kiddie figures. You have no idea what you are missing. Adv...

Re: Mirror Baledl T-34/85

Most likely exiled Koreans from Russia who fled the Japanese long ago now looking for work in their old country. That, or North Korean defectors. The girls are all multi-millionaires by now. As for the tank, back to the Korean war museum? I don't think YG Entertainment has room for a tank on lot. Th...

Mirror Baledl T-34/85

Okay, this is for you T-34 fans out there. The K-pop group Black Pink performed this song on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Good Morning America, so this isn't exactly a stunt video, check out the hits, one 100 million I believe. Anyways, the director put in a T-34 plastered with mirrors in ...

Re: new .32 French long

That's not uncommon. My digital set was off .002 or even .003 measuring cast bullets. I had to use a fancy high end set of digital micrometers on precision gauge pins to find that out. I thought Lyman gave me a bum sizer die until I did. I used my old mechanical set this time around, which I prefer ...

Re: 7.65 French Long.

Just got my order in from Starline today. The rim is a few thousands thicker than mine and the 1945 steel cases I pulled out. I fit the new stuff into my pistol with the barrel out then closed with a case in it and they fit a bit "snugger" than their predecessors. A few thousands can do that as I ha...
