Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Different front sight heights?

J&B weld should not cure to "rubbery" . The quick weld type should still set up 24 hours before being touched. The standard J&B becomes even harder but I let it set ,untouched, for 48 hours. I let the product run down over the sight blade a bit then flip it upside down,so it will hold better. I've u...

I have always thought of this forum as top notch, with almost no trolls in sight. I appreciate it even more when I read these reviews of the other sites. Thanks, all.

Re: "Another" Colombian added to the collection!

Excellent find. Winchester, Fiocchi , et.al. have a 130 gr fmj .38 special load that is both accurate and has "mild" recoil. It duplicates the early Vietnam Era U.S. Airforce load.

That is strange , I have never heard of a Spanish K-98 rifle , they did make a Model 98 Mauser . . Also the Spanish never used a .318 on any rifle ever . You may want to figure out what you are doing before you go any farther .
This too!

Re: Who is making .318" bullets?

I might be out of line here and mean no disrespect. But this sounds all Very odd, can we see the rifle and its markings? What type of Spanish rifle is it? Are you sure it is a K98?  Maybe a slight terminology confusion. Or is it some kind of Spanish captured, restamped, German K98?? ...

Looking closely at the front sight bases, partially hidden but still obvious pitting. Probably not decent originally.

Re: Finally got my first Garand!

I would agree with Steamer that they are a great rifle, and every rifle collector needs at least one. However, there is one area where you CAN go wrong. Ammo selection. Now Gabe, you may know all the following info, in which case I apologize for insulting your intelligence, but not everyone is awar...

Re: Something fishy in K98s

OK now not wishing to cause a rumble here.. But this is a serious question... If these guns are refurbished and If you wanted a perfect gun for a gift or whatever I can almost understand the price better.. there was a lot of work put in them to "fix" them up.. And not work that the average person c...
