Great Resource For Accurizing Kar98k

I've used this source a couple times to great effect in accurizing my Russian Capture Kar98k's, but it should hold true for most Mausers.

Re: A nice 6th Series Type 99 local auction find

That's a nice 6th series too! Looks exactly like mine! It's interesting how this series still has good quality to it, but you can see the little things starting to creep in with the cylindrical bolt handles. Completely agree, I think if it still had the larger "plum" shaped bolt handle it may be th...

Re: 1941 Lithgow - but marked 'JJ Co' - not a parts gun?

Not all JJ Co rifles were parts guns. They imported full rifles and parts. Mostly rifles dated 44 and 45 looking brand new are to be questioned.

Reproduction Zf41

I am thinking about purchasing one of the reproduction mounts and scopes available to make any Kar98k a Zf41. Does anyone have any experience with them? I know some shimming and such is required to fit possibly. Just wondering if it's worth the money before I spend it.

Re: Mauser model 58 on Proxibid

It's a Russian Capture restored to look original issue, actually looks like a Mitchell's Mauser. Just a repo helmet decal on it and people are way over paying.

Re: K98 stock oil?

. Wouldn't a cupped buttplate be closer to correct? He does state its not matching but ar (Mauser Borsigwalde) has been reported to use flat buttplates into 1943. That's a great looking rifle. Just take your time with light coats, whiling off the excess after about 20-30 min and letting it dry thor...

Re: 1895 Nagant vs Modern Revolver Design

Got out the Nagant last weekend she shot better than I do with a revolver. Got issue with the cases getting stuck in just on cylander. Same cylander each time, other wise the other rounds mainly slid out of a slight push from the mouth. Wondering if I could polish up the cylander that's getting stuc...
