Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Request to Translate an old note in Slovenian to English

Hello Everyone, A good friend of mine's family immigrated from Slovenia to the US sometime many years ago. He knows some Slovenian but cannot read it. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to read Slovenian and could translate this into English. My friend Dan said that he knows that the note refe...

I only own a couple that have been converted to .323 ( S bore) and used by the Turks a lot. The rifles bore are very worn and only shoot minute-of-man at 200 meters.
If the rifles were in better condition I think they would be great shooters with 189 grain SPBT bullets.
Thanks for the info Rob!

Re: Alliant 2400 With Cast Bullets

Kind of off topic but I found that Vectan BA 9 powder is also a wonderful cast bullet propellant. It has a similar burn rate to Unique and is quite affordable.

Grafs has it on sale for 19.99 per half Kilo...1.1 pounds

Re: Which would you pick for your army A TrapDoor or Rolling Block

This is interesting stuff! It is funny that you mentioned the Trapdoor's ejector...I recently restored an old NJ State militia 1884 Springfield Rifle. The Ejector was completely missing. S&S firearms had a reproduction one that worked great! Watching the cases fly is one of the joys of shooting a Tr...

Beautiful Rifle!

Two of my old Slovene friends have old family stories about fighting the Germans and drinking Slivovitz. Very hard fighting in Slovenia.

Re: Which would you pick for your army A TrapDoor or Rolling Block

Lots of times weapons designs were acquired by governments in interesting manners... mainly not to pay designers! The Trapdoor was mainly in service because of the Springfield Armory. The US Army preferred to keep designs in house, Erskine S. Allin, the Master Armorer for Springfield did not make a ...

Rob,

Great article; I learn something new every time you post.

I was wondering what your impression of the Gew 1888 rifle was at long range?
