Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

1891 Argentine- replacement stocks?

So we have a sporterized Argentine Mauser, still in original 7.65x53. As far as I can tell, it was one of the original "store job" sporterizings; the stock is original, but has been sawed off about halfway down the hand grip area, right about where the band would go. A straight cut, no rounding or s...

Good to see this forum back up

I'm really happy to see this board return. I came across it years back due to my love of the surplus pistols, and some of the history surrounding them.
It's great to be able to come to a board where you can discuss these guns and not have somebody demean them and tell you to get a Glock/Shield etc.

Re: 1907 Savage

Here's the only shot I have of mine.. I got it pretty cheap, and it was missing the right side grip. I found the replacement grips, and have taken it out shooting since then. It's reliable (no failures) with Fiocchi 7.65mm, but it just sprays the bullets out. I get "groups" of maybe a foot or more, ...

Some 9x18 pistols

I posted this in another thread, singling out the CZ 82; but they all qualify as they were all Warsaw Pact issue. Not the best quality photo, and I've since replaced a grip on the Hungarian (I found one without the thumbrest, that matched the right panel). In doing a little research on my PA 63, I B...

Star Modelo B Super

Here's mine, I put some wooden grips on (I've kept the original plastic, but tucked them away). Reasonably clean condition, considering the age, and a slick shooter. Got mine back when J&G had them, came with 2 magazines and the (Spanish) manual. I like it a lot. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2278/...

Re: Post-Yugoslavian pistols

retread12345678 J&G... you're referring to the PHP? Can you go into a little more detail on your impressions of the guns? Most of what I've read has been biased, in that it's not a modern "plastic" gun; and some folks say there's spotty QA among the batches. The one I have on the way is supposed to...

Re: Finally got a Beretta 92

Mine was released today, and has made it's way home already. Attractive gun- a matte blue finish on the slide with a little wear on the sharp corners, and some speckling of wear on the grip section of the frame. The Taurus mags in question- they fit and lock back the slide fine by hand. Will check t...

Post-Yugoslavian pistols

Well, technically, this also includes Yugoslavia... but shortly I will add another from immediately right afterwards. I picked up a Yugoslavian CZ 99 a little while back for not much at all, and it's a sturdy, reliable pistol. There are a lot of Sig similarities, but the CZ 99 is a bit thicker, and ...

Re: Finally got a Beretta 92

So the site lives again :D I have one holding, should be able to pick it up Saturday. I looked at various offerings (SOG, AIM, Palmetto), but dallied too long to get one from them at the time. Just found mine on Gunbroker, with a different import mark (on the front, right side of the frame, instead ...
