finally picked up another no4 mk1

It's been a few years since I have owned an enfield, and I have been keeping my eye out for one that was a little beat up, and could use some tlc, but had a good bore. This is the first one that poped up that fit the bill. I did some horse trading with a buddy and ended up with this, 218 rounds of 3...

Re: VZ24 Stock

There is always a few on ebay, but I am thinking with all the metal and hand guard you are looking at $75-100. The days of discarded $15 stocks from the gunsmith are long gone. Also look at the bolt cut because some are notched for a bent bolt others remain intact for a straight bolt. The ones I po...

Re: VZ24 Stock

Numrich has them for around $50. Go to the Mauser section, click on cz24, and look for the stock set. Or click this link. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/50310

Re: MAS .308 conversions

I had one that I was lucky if it ran three rounds in a row without a failure to extract. I ran 70 rounds through it before I had enough and traded it off, I think the most it went with no problems was 5 rounds.

Re: Show us your mid-late war Nagoya Type 99's

My series 5 nagoya. Number 30541, bolt does not match the rifle, so it could be an earlier one. However the finish of the bolt is similar to the rifle so I am assuming it's been with it awhile. Plum bolt The bore is chromed, and I believe the bolt face is as well. front band is 2 screw missing the f...

Re: VZ24 sniper rifle clone

I got all the parts together, I managed to track down a mauser 98 bent bolt that I was willing to pay the price for, and put the rifle together..... Only to find out the new bolt has the wrong kind of bend. I ended up taking it into a local smith to have it rebent, it cost $40, he even reprofi...

Re: VZ24 sniper rifle clone

The first thing I found for it was a complete stock. I ordered it off numrich for around $50, I wish I would have taken a picture of it when I first got it, it was covered in gunk and cosmoline, but it did not have any major damage or cracks, it was however missing a few parts, most noticible in the...

VZ24 sniper rifle clone

I picked this up about a month ago. it's a 1937 vz24 that had it's bolt bent to a weird shape and angle, the receiver is notched for that bolt, was drilled and tapped for a scope, and was in a k98 sporter stock, I also got the scope with it, it's an old weaver K4. Now I could have left it was it was...

Re: Flat or round?

The flat point does the most damage, IMO, just an example, but look at all of the stories about .38 special wadcutters loaded backwards doing some major damage, most I know of are from former police officers and there is not really a way to know if the stories are true or not, but I have heard a few...

Re: Mauser bolt bending service?

I ended up taking in to the local smith just to find out how long it will take and how much it will cost. It's going to cost $40 and will be done later this week.

Re: Mauser bolt bending service?

I would buy a k98 bolt, but the cheapest I have been able to find a stripped one that I know is a k98 bolt is for $150. The problem I'm running into is that people don't take good pictures of the bolts they are selling, and they don't say what type of bent bolt they have, just that they it's a bent ...

Mauser bolt bending service?

Anyone know a good place to go to have one bent? I have a project I'm working on, and a trying to find place to have one done. I bought a new bolt for the project due to some problems with the old one(I will make a post about the rifle when it's done) long story short I ended up with one that is ben...
