Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

What Model Berthier Is This?

This carbine looks different than the other carbines I have seen. Check out the lack of a stacking hook and the different band that looks like it is for a sling. Thanks, Butch

Pictures are small but it looks like a Mle1890 carbine that was updated by having the ramrod slot filled in and the extended magazine added. The front band looks like it came from a M1 carbine or something like that.

Maybe....somebody had a Berthier carbine missing the front band, and since they're hard to find they just found something else that could be made to fit.

The stock with short forend is of the Mle 1892 Mousqueton type, the 5 shot magazine is of the Mle M16 type, the M1 carbine front band is a clever replacemnt for a hard to find part.
