Dark fox! Old Kar 98K from 1938. Conversion from military rifle around 1955.

It used to have 7,9x57 in its licence, but around 30 years ago, my father should brought this rifle to the gunsmith that he confirmed that has the "civilian" caliber 8x57 IS. And that caliber is in the certificate now. But we know that is actually the same.
Close view to the scope (4x32) and bolt. It stil has "dirty birds" on some parts.

Nice scope set up...Can you still use the iron sights through those mount holes..??

Not an American tradition, but after two tours of duty in the Federal Republic I became aware of the act. I personally think it is a
honorable recognition of the bond between hunter and prey.

Thank you, sir. Really true. Hunters in Slovenia, we have and cultivate the same tradition of respect for the hunted animals.

Thanks for sharing. Those are some very interesting scope mounts, don't believe I have even seen any like that before.

It is a German pre ww2 “classic” scope mounts with the tunnel which alows aiming by iron sights.
