1939 Sauer and Suhl serial numbers?

Post by Bear »

Hi. Where on a 1939 Sauer and Suhl 98k would the serial number or portions of the serial number appear? I was hoping for a diagram that I could use for a class I may teach. A list would help if not a diagram. Thanks all!

If you haven't seen this site,no diagram, but this site does give locations of serial numbers on various WW2 Mausers, including Suhl and Sauer.

Pistols?

Some good info on a number of pistols here. Not much on the 38H, though. Also, a fair amount of info on 1913-1930 models. I have a 1919 in 7.65 browning/.32 acp.

primary info at 98 k forum see picture lists: http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php ... ence-Index

And primary book ref are K98k books by 3dr party press. You will not like the cost and most libraries do not carry the "evil gun books". So you buy the books which are limited press. Great references:

Milsurp reference library: code 147 1939

Hey thanks for that 38H link... It is a shame that that gun did not get the love as other german WW II pistols do.

They are fun to shoot, Some things to like and not like.. But not a gun that gets alot of press. and is in all intents forgotten.

Which 1919 variant do you have and how do you like it????

I have a model 1913 made in 1919 by serial number. (so, not a model 1919) Shoots very well.

2nd variant it looks like:
