Saw an ordinary cut down Carcano. 6.5 sell at auction last night for225.00. HUH?? also a sliced up Type99 Arisaka for 150.00. SEEMS like an awful lot

Yes . sales tax . 9.3 % . and buyer fee of 7%

My Dad was a huge gun guy, but he was also pretty knowledgable on antiques as well having owned his own shop.
He woukd attend auctions for fun and profit.
At one there were some guns and parts. He had given them a look. He knew what was uo for bid.
Well up came a rifle stock, just the stock . He said for a .22.
Price was going up and up as people bid. One bidder was sitting next to my dad . Dad politly told him " it's just a stock you know?" Dad had seen this guy pick it up after he had look at it.
Guy paid him no mind. Bid got over a humdred and the guy "won".
He went to pay and was shocked it was just a stock and not a gun. My dad could only shrug. He had tried to warn him after all.
" The beatings will continue until morale improves."

Alot of people get caught up with the hype and excitement of an auction and when its over, some will be disappointed. If they have a good auctioneer buyer beware.
