Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

#1 Post by Roy mcleod » Fri Apr 20, 2018 5:18 pm

In my collection, I, have three, m 38 carbines w/ folding bayonets.
Photos from the top down
The first one is in very good cond and is COMPLETE w/ bayonet and folding parts
Carbine is marked GARDINE VT with fixed rear sight ca 6.5 mm
The second one, is in good cond with graduating rear sight and was MISSING the bayonet
Carbine is marked crown TERNI cal 6.5
The third one is in ave cond and was missing the front sight/bayonet head assy, all parts and bayonet
Carbine is marked GARDINE Vt w/ fixed rear sight cal 6.5.

Over the years, i, was able to locate a bayonet for number two to COMPLETE the Carbine
Over the many years, I, was able to locate a stripped sight/bayonet head. and later a bayonet and
most parts for the sight/bayonet head. MY Gunsmith made a main bolt for the sight/bayonet head
and I, was able to COMPLETE carbine number three

Nice post and description of those little carbines!
»You're a disgrace. I'd like to know how you got to be a Captain, anyway. »Yossarian: »You promoted me.« Colonel Cathcart: » That has got nothing to do with it.«
