Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Tokyo Juki Kogyo Series 37

#1 Post by ShaneB » Thu May 21, 2020 4:19 pm

I'm new to the forum, and figured I could add some of my rifle collection to the many posts here. First up is one of my favorite rifles. The Type 99 Arisaka is a wonderful rifle, and this one is a pretty nice example of one of the smaller arsenals that manufactured them.

That's one nice specimen worthy of an original sling.
To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.

I read somewhere that these were manufactured in two different lengths. I have a Type-99 as well but mine appears shorter than yours

I decided to upload a few pictures of my Tokyo Juki Kogyo Series 37 Arisaka rifle. It was a birthday present from my wife and still has an entact mum! I didn't realize it came from a smaller arsenal. Thanks for teaching me something today! The series symbol on my example is tough to read but I am positive it is a Series 37. If you disagree, please let me know. Thanks!

I would say your rifle is also a series 37, a little earlier is serial range than mine. What features does it still have? (AA Wings, Monopod, cleaning rod, dust cover) Is the rifle matching? Nice that it has an untouched mum, but I much prefer a bolt matching rifle myself. I measured my cleaning rod, it is the shorter Type 99/Type 2 Paratrooper 21 5/16 in length. It’s blue matches the rifle so think it came with the rifle from the factory, but curious to know if that’s been seen before?

My rifle is missing the AA Wings, Monopod, and Dust Cover. I do have a cleaning rod. The bolt is all matching! I'll upload some better pictures in the future. Also, I think our rifle's are the same length after all 😀

Nice that it’s all matching, can’t wait to see some more pictures of your rifle. I have a Nagoya series 4 rifle that I’m working on as a project with a matching bolt and full mum, but mismatched stock and other features that I’m slowly working on correcting. I’ll make a thread for it with pictures and post my progress as it goes sometime soon.
