I would like to use my 91/30 for deer hunting next year. Does anybody have any favorite ammo type to use?

Thanks.

I've taken several in the north woods with that ammo Snipertom pointed out, it drops them in their tracks.

Yes Wolf Gold is Privi.
most other US brand name ammo for surplus rifles is Privi.

While I have not used them personally, S&B has a good hunting round for hunting. When buying some winchester fmj at a local shop they had a box of S&B soft points. I asked the guy at the desk, whose opinion I trust and he said the feedback on them were great, "knockem down deer killer".

I've not used S&B for hunting but have shot some in my 91-30 and M44 and it shoots good in both.

I've taken deer with my M44 using both Igman 150 gr and Handloads using the Hor 174 JRN. I really prefer what that 174 does to a big northwoods buck. A group of us get together in western WI a few times a year. Keep your eye on the shooting events board. Save your boxer brass, and we can probably work something out if you'd like to shoot handloads.
