I took the bolt out of my M69 to clean it and it won't go back in the rifle. Seems like the spring follower is out of place and I can't rotate it. Any suggestions?

Yep. It has slipped off the cocked position and rotated down. You have to rotate it back to the rear most notch as I recall. Not a big deal. If you go to the top of the page their is a surplus rifle button. Hit that then go to the left and scroll down to the M69 tab and click on it.

It is hard to describe how to do this with just your hands. Has to do with how to grip the bolt, pull and rotate. The easiest way I found was to grab the notched bar inside the bolt with a good pair of vise grips and pull it back and rotate it into the rear notch. It can be done with a screwdriver as well but the last time I did that things got bloody. This might help: http://www.surplusrifle.com/romanian196 ... ble/hs.asp

The spring follower, if it is all the way forward, must be moved to the rear about 3.4 inch and rotated right into that notch shown in figure 2. It is best not to disassemble these bolts. They are the hardest to put back together that I have ever worked on.

Thank you sgthurley, I was able to push down on the notched bar inside the bolt with a small screwdriver and turn the bolt to the correct position.
