Picked-up these two Cold War era trainers.

1951 Romanian UMC Cugir single shot complete (other than the sight hood thats on order) and in very nice shape. Trigger cam works fine. Small under-barrel CAI mark. It's one of the best ones of these I've seen for quite sometime.

You'll like the WZ48. It's the quintessential Mini-Mosin. I picked up two from Prechere, but I had to let a friend have one just so he'd stop drooling all over mine.

That sling is an original M38 sling. Pretty rare and worth nearly $100 by itself. Beautiful rifles! I love my Wz48 too. It is scary accurate with subsonic rounds.

Yes, it is. Interesting result too, as support for the cartridge base and match chamber tolerances are taught as essential to high accuracy in .22 LR. Half of the cartridge base is supported by the extractor, and it's tolerances are quite, ahem...generous.

LOL......I did not pay much attention to the sling till I saw the Soviet ink-stamp. The guy I got it from said the sling came with the weapon. It was still in the Gibbs box. :o

Perhaps he mis-spoke or I mis-understood but I'll take it.

I took them both down to my range and to be honest I should have waited as the wind was really humping along at 30-35 mph but what the heck, a windy day of shooting is better than no day of shooting.

I suspect they will do much better on a calmer day, the UMC Cugir in particular as it's a joy to shoot with a trigger pull a bit under 1#. I used Wolf Match in them both.

Given the conditions (and my old eyes) I'm OK with the results for now.

The WZ's trigger is just shy of 4# but I can drop that a bit by lessing the spring pressure but I don't know if I'll bother as it more of a fun gun anyway.
