I got this one in today. It's a Jap smooth bore mag fed training rifle along with a mild steel training bayonet that makes a late war one look like a work of art. There is no edge at all, just flat. One could get poked with it though.

The receiver is marked with a four digit serial number with two digit assembly numbers on the parts. No mum or anything else on top. I gave $150 shipped for them which was probably too high but I just liked the looks of it for some reason. Who's to say what passes for taste!

It functions the same as a ordinary rifle but the bolt has no locking lugs. It does still have a firing pin and goes click when the trigger is pulled. The safety is functional too. The sight ladder goes up to 2K! The stock looks refinished but it has the proper varnish on it. Maybe they taught the kids how to refinish too!

The extractor is of a type fitted around the bolt head that is used to extract the blanks. The bolt handle and a raised section of metal on the bolt body provide lock up.

Nice looking trainer rifle and bayonet package you have there. Thanks for sharing.
