Looking to get a Kentucky Long Rifle to hang in the house. Found one on an auction site for $300 and dealer has yet to contact me in almost a week. Not really looking for a shooter but anyone know where I can get one fairly cheap? Obviously not looking for a collectors piece, but not looking for a toy or non firing replica either. I know Pedersoli makes good reproductions but again wasn't looking to spend close to a grand.

Be patient, you`ll find something. You looking for a rock lock or percussion? I`ve seen original percussion long rifles at shows and shops for less than $500. They`re usually kinda rough with trashed bores though. But if your just looking for a wall hanger.... Nice used reproductions also show up from time to time. Percussion guns will usually be cheaper than flintlocks.

Pedersoli is not cheap. I paid near $1500 for a repo Harpers Ferry 1789 Flintlock. Google it or look at Dixie Gun Works.

Yea I looked at Dixie. I think I'll wait and save some money. Might as well buy something that will retain it's value.
