Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Swede Bayo Blade Replacement

#1 Post by kraggman » Tue May 19, 2020 4:40 pm

Greets
I've had this bayonet for my Swedish Mauser for a while now. I bought it cheap due to condition of the blade. Seems to be a thing where people try to sharpen these and ruin the blade. Anyhow I found brand new original replacement blades at Century Arms. The issue is removing the old one. The blade is forked at the end (see pic) and has teeth to lock it in. Inside the handle there's a hole, presumably to allow a punch to knock it out. Tried that, too tight. I don't want to damage the handle. Any thoughts or experience with this one ??

Need a long square or hex wrench IIRC, soak first to loosen.

Oh. So I assume the inside turns to unlock. Mine has a square hole. Thanks for the tip !!

These are cool af. Until I saw a spare blade for sale on Ebay, I never knew they were designed that way.
Pretty clever.
And good to know about the disassembly.
