Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

So I ended up with this in an auction. Now I have to sell my other CG m96.

Nice! Is that the ‘full wrap-around’ or clamp-on 1st model?

The drill/tap diopter sights alone go for $130 @ Century Arms.

Andersson type 1 clamp on. My understanding is they are a bit rare. Good thing is it doesn’t require drill and tap. Comes with Anderson dove tail tall front globe sight. Original rear sight is removed as it’s not needed. I’m looking into finding a correct SM-sikte AGJ-ram".
Found one for $89 plus $20 shipping. That sound reasonable?

Of course the stock was inletted for the sight to fit. The stock has matching upper and lower numbers. Looks like beech.

Rifle shoots good as targets show. 3/4” 3 shot group was my las three rounds of m41 surplus ammo I had on hand. Was sighting in and then trying to get three shots inside 2” circle at 100 yards to qualify to move to 400 yard range. A requirement of my gun range. I had my sights dead on and then fired last three rounds for score. Didn’t realize front sight had loosened and drifted to the right on previous group. Oh well. Next trip.

Swedes do shoot! I used to handload using 4350 powder and I would get less than 1” groups, 5-shots of 139-grain bullets right off the lands, at 100 yards, standard sight for the bent bolt M38, benched of course.

Although I really like the first 96 I got that is all matching, I am unable to hold onto both. Even though the HVA96 has an unmarked bolt, floorplate, and both barrel bands, the rareity of it and the sight, and ow well it shoots means I will be keeping it and selling the other. Maybe one day I’ll come across another all matching
