Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Swedish target rifle

#1 Post by Calfed » Fri Feb 28, 2020 10:52 am

I saw this Swedish target rifle at an auction last week. The description advised that it was a Schultz and Larsen Otterup 6.5 x 55. Pictures said otherwise.

Appears to be some kind of Swedish Mauser in a CG 63 style stock. The barrel is not a standard CG 63 barrel and may be a Schultz and Larsen barrel. No handguard, so I'm guessing it would not fit over the heavy barrel.

What do you guys think?

It has elements of a CG 80. "The CG 80 is an improved version of the CG 63. It featured a new beech-wood stock that also included a pistol grip, Monte-Carlo-style cheekpieces and a short forend. The CG 80 did not have a handguard. It did have an aluminum rail inletted into the bottom of the forend to allow the attachment of an adjustable sling." For Collectors Only "The Swedish Mauser" Kehaya, S. & Poyer J.

The rifle arrived at my FFL last week. I looked it over before it went into his safe to started its 10-day "cooling off" period. I got a number of other rifles and a S&W Model 52, so it was a big week.

It has elements of a CG 80.

The barrel is a heavy profile Schultz and Larsen. Very similar to the barrel on my CG 80, which is also an S&L.

Awesome! I’m surprised however, on the real early date on the receiver ...

Yea, no surprise to me. The first 10000 were produced from recycled m/94 receivers and bolts...such as this:

Well see ... ? See bold above, I wasn't aware of that and just had expected later dated receivers, that's all ...

My FM23-36 Swedish target rifle is made on the latest CG receiver I've seen...a 1935 dated
