M1903 w 20 rd magazine

#1 Post by M14man » Fri Jul 28, 2017 9:58 am

Back during WW1 a 20 rd mag was developed for the '03. Some called it the "Air Service". The war was over before they really became ready to be issued.
Here is one fitted to one of my rifles.

Ahead of its time ... in a 'tacticool' kind of way. However, it could have been of benefit to scoped rifles, less the mag being too tall for the shooting position/rest.

After firing off a few rds, you are not sure how many are still in there.
This 20 rd is a extension, the rifle will hold 25 total!
