Just wondering if anyone has experience fixing the rear aperture on a 1903a3. I have had the rifle for some time now and finally had time and distance to actually shoot. I set up a target and after a few shots thought I was having a real bad day shooting. I then noticed the sight had moved to bottom. I reset and same thing. I did a quick search and found some others had same issues, however I haven't yet located a diagram of rear sight to understand what I might need to do. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated.
If you do an image search it should give you an idea of what you're working with. If the peephole is just moving down the elevation slide then check the screw that holds the little plate on top of it. If that's tight then take the plate off and bend the detent down so it has more friction on the elevation slide, it only takes a little so go easy.
Captain Obvious, you have never failed me!
There is a flat spring plate that is supposed to hold the sight in place. I was never able to rebend the spring to create more presure. As i recall I could not loosen the screw that held the plate down. I just replcaced the sight. I know that's not the best method, but I could not get to the spring to bend it.
