I recently got a Spanish M1916 first pattern Mauser in a trade from a forum member. It was made at Oviedo Arsenal in 1923 and is still in the original 7mm Mauser caliber.

I've had it at the range and it shoots good. It is the shortest and lightest of my Mausers, so it has a bit of a kick.

Note the Lange-Vizier rear sight and large gas escape hole in the receiver, and the unusual front sight protector held on by a pin.

I also have M1893 and M1943 Spanish Mausers and it is interesting to see how they evolved over the years.

Nice!Ive only seen one for sale with the lange sights and Ive been kicking myself for not buying it.
