Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Well i do have a question for you. Wich caliber do you think suits the fn-49 best. My favorite overal caliber is 7x57 so i wonder about that, though i havent shot it on a fn-49. But the fn-49 off my father is in 30-06 wich is a real kicker.

The FN-49 IMO is the best .30-06 semi, however I've never shot a Johnson, HCAR, or the new .30-06 AR Platform, the best 8mm Mauser Semi, again never fired a FG-42, and is the only 7mm Mauser Semi I am aware of. Of the 3 calibers I give a slight edge to the 7mm Mauser in the FN-49 it is extremely accurate and is a pleasure to shoot. However all 3 are great.

Back in 1994 I ordered two of the Egyptians in 8mm Mauser, one for me and one for my brother. I got a notice a week later that they where out of stock, I never ended up getting one but sure wished that one in '94 would have materialized. It likely would have gotten me onto milsurps quicker and I could have bought more when they were cheaper.

Thanks for the picture of your wonderful collection.

That's exactly what a friend of mine has. Its such a pussycat to shoot. I'm going to 1/2" it one day I swear.
