Finally got the 03A3 from the dealer today --the ten day waiting period timed out.

Still think that it maybe unissued. Metal is perfect, wood near perfect. Just a few tiny nicks in the handguard. Very hard to do the wood justice with my camera.

All the parts that I can see have either "R" or "RP"

That rifle looks absolutely great and original. It should be in "Technicolor" with blues , greys,g reens and even some purples. Cartouches look excellent. Appears to have been inventoried into Anniston Arsenal in new condition. All were issued, but many were hardly used.

How U doing C-F? Long time no see. That is a very nice 03A3. I am invious! Will have to meet up in Lincoln some time and pop a few caps. Got my CMP carbine about 3 weeks ago. All I need is ammo. Take care, Ron

Considering you live in California, for what you paid you got a SCREAMING fine rifle!

Thanks, Guys. Now I have to decide whether to take it to the range or lock it up.

Hi CalFed I got one just like yours same markings etc. My serial # begins with 405****. Mine looks like new and has never been fired but I think it has. I think most of the time our rifles were in storage and running back and forth across the U.S. I have not fired mine yet and I have had it since 2004. I think you got a good deal on the price.

Hey, Ron!

It has been a long time. Definitely have to go to Lincoln and pop a few. Or go to Sac Valley and shoot in that Military Silhouette match.
