SAMCO has some beaters see

Also there are always 2 to 3 at most average size gun shows. You can see the one you want in person. =D> =D>

I got a K-11 from this outfit as well as a Type 38 carbine. I was pretty happy with the customer service and the descriptions of the guns. I know he has a variety of K-31s.

^ +1

Just got my K31 from Simpson Ltd and overall am pretty happy. They are good people and easy to work with. I would make another purchase from them if I found something I wanted.

Gander Mountain stores are carrying both K31's and 96/11's

I got one from Samco back in the day before they got down to the beaters! But with those guys you never know, they could open a new crate and have some pristine ones. I like Samco, have never got a bad rifle from them, but am thoroughly convinced even Samco does not know what Samco has. :)

I placed a Wanted ad on a hunting web site in New Jersey and a guy 2 towns over responded. Ad was free and I bought the gun FTF. I got a deal I'm happy with and so was the seller. It worked for me. Just my .02 cents.

I have purchased two in the last 6 months. First one was a 1944 with a less than good condition stock but the metal was in really good condition, private seller off a local website, no troop tag....$225. A couple of weeks later going to a local gun shop with a friend looking for a pistol I see this lonely old K31 sitting on the shelf collecting dust. 1942 in really good condition with a troop tag. I let the shop owner talk me out of $200 for it...both of them are walnut stocks. I had to refinish the first one because just holding the stock up you got splinters in your hand. I have it sanded now and just need to raise a few dents then I can finish it up. I know it's heresy but I am going to go with a medium walnut and finish it somewhere more than satin finish but less than gloss...I guess semi gloss.

My Cabelas (Wheeling) usually has a couple 31s and/or 11s on the rack.

Also put the word out with your friends, never know what will show up. I found one that way, a buddy knew an elderly lady who had immigrated from Switzerland. She had her brother's K31 that he had brought with him to this country. Nice rifle but I really like knowing the history.

Robeeone,

Try the gun shows. I usually see one or two at most shows up here.
Good luck,

Got mine from simpsonltd. Definitely accurate on description but I probably paid a little more for it than on other sites or a gun show. Still nice to know exactly what you are getting.

I can't help but notice that Cabelas in different parts of the country seem to stock a better variety of milsurp rifles than they do here in CT. I was in WI for a week last year and they had quite a hodge podge of stuff there. I guess that they buy and stock items by the area they are located (Walk into a Walmart in AK and you'll know what I mean). Some of you guy's don't know how lucky you are to have Big5's and the other chain stores that are mentioned here.......Larry
