Technically this could go in Italian pistols as well but i have an 1889 bodeo revolver made in 1896 and was wondering if i should load black powder loads just to be safe or if in fact a light charge of smokeless (i have several pounds of Trailboss) would be fine to use since trail boss itself is a very low pressure powder. Anyone have any thoughts or comments on whether its worth using smokeless or just stay with blackpowder rounds.

From the little I have read, the revolver can use black powder and smokeless equivalents. I think the major issue will be forming the brass and finding appropriate bullets that fit the bore of your gun.

Already have a custom bullet sizing die on order from lee precision, my main concern was since it was manufactured fairly early on whether a 1896 made bodeo wouldnt be as strong as a bodeo made lets say in 1914 since the metal might be of different quality since 1896 is pretty early in the smokeless powder era. Im gonna keep debating with myself and decide whether to go smokeless or black, Its a real debate over here haha

We have about 3/4 box of reformed brass for one. His recipe for loads and on the side of the box.
