When looking at a Johnson rifle to possible purchase what should I be looking for as far as originality or problems?

Take a look at pics of Johnson 1941 rifles on the web. A company named Winfield bought a lot of these years ago and sportered them different ways. Some had sporter stocks, different front sights, rubber recoil pads and scope bases. You'll probably want a original rifle but, a nice Winfield would still be nice. A original might be hard to find. Good luck and hope you get a good deal.

I found one that I beleive to be original but dont know enough about them to know. I found another Johnson forum on the internet but not much info there

Looks good. Seems to have original sights and bayonet lug. Stock looks good too. Probably a good one there.

I need to research these rifles more. I cant justify spending the money on a rifle that may not be right, especially when going off pictures

Orlando, did you buy it? Or are you still researching? Check out my barrel thread I just posted. If it has a non oem barrel it will cost you around a grand to get a correct one.

No I didnt buy it. Had some other expenses come up. Its on the back burner for now
