Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Here is the assembly matching numbers found on the major parts of all military M57 Yugo toks

On the frame generally found in the grip portion of the frame

The barrel has both a serial number in the ejection port and an assembly number on it. You will see a small logo trade mark to the right of the serial # on later production barrels that are not found on older Yugo military Toks Older military Toks have just the serial number visible by the ejection port and the assembly number on theater side of the barrel. Also I am not sure when they started to stamp the year on the right side of the pistol between the retainer slide stop clip. I have seen 1990-92 date stamps at this location. My M57 is 92 stamped with matching C prefix serial numbers on the right side on the frame left of the retaining clip, it is on the the slide just behind and below the ejection port and on the barrel so it is visible when the slide is not cocked. Some magazines with the lanyard loop have assembly numbers on the side, most do not. And yes the military M57 lacking the crest has the poor safety drilled into frame on the left side.

The hammer assembly:

Inside the slide , it has an assembly # and matching serial number, but is not marked with a crest

The hammer assembly also has initials on the opposite side;

So this pistol is a last year issue M57 Yugo military Tokarev in 7.62 x 25 . This ammo is now expensive and not generally found at your local store like 9mm ammo is. Hence these older Toks in 7.62 x x25 are no longer in great demand. No one wants them at top buck at gun shows. They want the cheep 9mm Yugos. Zastava is chroming M57s in an effort to sell some of the older production, and they have been producing the more popular 9mm Tokarev.
Most of the new ones have different grips with the Zastava logo and different trade marks on the pistol. Some have a Glock like trigger others have a new Barretta style safety on the slide. These newer production pistols have flat bottom magazines, not ones with the lanyard loop. Look up M88 , M88A , M70, M70A and M70 AA.
I will post some photos of the newer trade marks, but here is one of the chrome m57 military pistols.

Here are some of the newer production Yugo logos you do not generally find on the older military pistols:

Features found on Zastava new goodies. I like my old military M57s :dance: :doh: Here is the new Barretta like safety used by Zastava, much better than the ones found on the military M57s;

Some information on the new M57 A Yugo tok
M57a Serial number
Z-M57-0000690 Imported new into the United States 2012.

To explain a little further, the new M57A pistols began being imported in about November/December 2011, right around the time of Newtown and Obama's re-election. The new Zastava M57As have a serial number on right of the frame, below the slide and above the grips, that starts Z-M57-000XXXX. I've owned two new M57As and both had serial numbers in the 5000s.

Finally, the new M57As will have different grips with vertical lines and Zastava's "CZ" (Crvena Zastava) logo in the middle of the grip. The surplus pistols have a lanyard ring on the left of the frame and will have the Communist star and "F R S J" initials on the grips. I believe those four letters translate as Federal Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia.

George Layman, 2018, in his book, Communist Bloc Handguns on pages 140-142 covers some interesting aspects of Yugoslav Tokarevs.
He indicates the new pistols at Zastva Arms are now marked as such and no longer are marked "Crvena Zastava".

He indicates they still make the following see page 140 :
M57 Original military YugoTokarev in 7.62 without a safety and ones imported with a cheep added safety fitted onto the frame. One with a C prefix are for importation.
M57 A Yugo Tok made for with a added safety fitted on the slide, sort of a Beretta style safety.
M70 .32 ACP that appears slightly different from a normal size M57 that is made for Police use and has a safety as made in the factory.
M70A an odd ball full size Tok like a M57 but in 9mm and no safety not imported.
M70 AA 9mm version of the above made for export and marked M70A. Formaly called a CZ 99 It really does not look like a M57.
M88 Yugo Tok but it has wood grips and no safety not imported
M88 A Same Tok as above except it has a safety for import and black polymer grips. It has a plastic base mag so it pulls out easy. For the exact descriptions provided by the author see page 140.

Mr. Layman also covers many different Types of Tokarevs in his fine book that has excellent photos of the examples. He covers for example, such Tokarevs as the Russian T33, Chinas Type 51 and 54, Hungarys 02 Tok, North Koreas type 66/68, Polands type pw 33 and the later circle 11 Tok as well as the Sportowy, the Romanian Toks, Yugoslavian M57s and others, and Pakistans cheep Padar & Brothers tokarevs. If you want a survey type book on Communist pistols get a copy of George Laymans book.

Classic got a case full of Yugo M57 Tokarevs with the safety in the trigger like a Glock trigger. An odd duck modification.
