Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

My CMP 1911A1

#1 Post by BPSTEVE » Sat Jan 12, 2019 6:06 pm

Recieved my pistol yesterday and am pretty satisfied with it.
It has a Colt frame serial # has it 1942 with correct WB inspector mark. Slide is Colt as well. I removed firing pin stop and unfortunately it doesn't have a serial number present. I really didn't expect it to match but would have been nice. The barrel is High Standard. It has AA stamp indicating it went through refurb at Augusta Arsenal.

I know there are some people who think the price is to high. I have been trying to find a decent USGI .45 for years. I just have never been able to find anthing worth while at prices being asked.

Congratulations, on your acquisition. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Hope you both get to the range soon. :handgestures-thumbup:

Thanks for posting photos. It will be interesting if some show up at gun shows?

A friend of mine said there is one on Gunbroker already. I haven't bothered to look but don't doubt it.

It certainly does have that new "old gun" feel all surplus weapons have to me. Can't wait to get to range with it, think I'll put her through the paces against my 1917 USGI S&W revolver.

Good idea - I love doing a "shoot off" between guns to see which one does best for me. We'll look forward to hearing the results.

Pics I've seen lately are some nice pistols, wish I would have made the cut. For a short time I carried a rebuild that looked like new until we changed over to the Berretta. Never did get used to the 92's.
