Price depends on marks and maker. In Wi at shows - cash & carry---$400 is a good price, $500 is about normal, and $600 is high priced for a .38. Figure the holster is worth $40, but watch out for reproductions. On that one at least the hammer and barrel are not cut. They are dogs to fire due to horrible trigger pull, so it is nice to cock it first, then you got a better trigger let off and can fire a bit more accurately. I can see no markings on it???
see https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/ ... -revolver/

So a steal would be $300, heck I would be happy with another at such a price. Our last gun show at Fond du Lac, Wi, had one at $500 firm( with holster really great original condition) and it was sold in the first hour. I came back to look it over after I took a fast scan of all the tables and POOF!, it was gone. They are nice surplus revolvers , but I would take a German P 38, US .45 Auto, Tokarev, or Smith & Wesson Airtight with laser grip as a shooter any day.

Consider a BB replica is $200 so $300-400 for a real one is OK

These are my IVs. That one looks pretty nice. The first reply to your question is right on. I wouldn't go more than $500.

Any indication of date of mfg.? Pre-war, war-finish or post-war? Picture looks like a clean one, I'd say $450-$550 OTD price would be fair.

For what its worth; I just bought a very clean post-war mkIV at an auction for around $420. Added plus, its marked SPF with safety intact.

728shooter, your est. is right on for "today's" market. This question dates back over a yr. so little help for the OP!

lewwallace, my-bad in not noticing the OP date! That being said, I think the numbers we see today probably haven't changed that much in a year, still an interesting post. BTW, you have a very nice collection of IV's!
