Here are the pictures of my first pre-war PP. It is a commercial issue (Crown over N). The finish is excellent, the barrel very good (unfortunately sometimes I am just not able to make a good picture of the inside of the barrel :x ).
I was surprised to see the last three digits of the serial number inside the slide, because the post-war PP's don't have that. And I was also completely unaware that the firing pin is square, I had only seen the round ones so far.

It is stamped R.F. on the trigger guard. Any idea of the meaning or is it just the initials of a previous owner :think:

In any case it is a very nice pistol in excellent shape. I am happy

Of all the weird things, I am most impressed with the condition of those grips. A very fine example of the gunmaker's art.
